Introduction
It is our goal to improve the situation of street people in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. It is the primary objective of 'Win Souls for God Evangelical Ministries' (WSG) to bring the street children out of their misery into a stable life with well-being. It is our philosophy that a sustainable change will be reached by combining the provision of basic needs with the answering of spiritual hunger.
We also believe that a joint effort of churches, the community, NGOs, state representatives and individuals will be a good and effective approach for our work. We are encouraging individuals and organizations to assist us in making a positive difference for the many precious lives on the streets.
Concept
Based on the over all goal of the ministry we want to break down the power of evil. We want to overcome the poverty of street people by preaching the Gospel of Jesus. We have continuous Bible lessons, prayer meetings and counseling with street children.
It is our approach to provide schooling opportunities for street children and children of the poorest parents in order to prevent streetism at its roots. We try to educate parents on childcare and child-psychology with the Bible as a base.
We also provide basic requirements like shelter, food, clothes (three times a year we give clothes for them at special occasions).
Presently we are doing the following:
We are active in five different centers in town. We are going out to the streets, approach the street children and preach the Gospel for them and we teach social life for them.
For the moment being we are helping 100 street people by giving daily counseling, prayer and a meal ticket for an extensive lunch and breakfast.
Win Souls for God Evangelical Ministry has 60 workers out of whom 9 are leadership staff and 24 are responsible for different activities and 27 volunteers.
