Facts
Ethiopia is located in the Horn of Africa. It has an estimated population around 72 million with an average growth rate of 3%. The
country's economy has been stagnant for the last two decades. Food insecurity is the main challenge of life for most of the population.
And especially in Addis Ababa therefore, streetism becomes a major problem.
Win Souls for God Evangelical Ministries was founded in May 1997 by a group of young Christians during their prayer fellowship. It is
registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) by the Ministry of Justice in Ethiopia.
Our aim is 'to Minister God's word to all people' with emphasis on street people, commercial sex worker and juvenile delinquents and the poorest families and Children. WSG is established to help people regardless of gender, religion, race or ethnic group.
The estimated number of children living in the streets of Addis Ababa is currently about 60,000 - 100,000. They have noting to eat, they sleep under plastic shelters, and they live in the dirty and dangerous streets together with straying dogs. The city's garbage containers make out their 'table of food'.
They do not get love from human beings any more. They are disrespected and discriminated against by most in society. They are looked upon as 'outcasts'. The problems of the street people are innumerable.
More than anything these vulnerable children need and deserve love.
